Hi all,

Bit of a strange one, see if anyone can shed any light on it.

Last night I decided to get GW up and running on my gaming laptop, but when it came to inputting my password it didn't recognise it. So i hit the reset password option at the login page and waited for about an hour for the email to arrive but nothing.

Fearing the worst i quickly logged into my NC Soft master account and proceeded to reset and change the password from there - from there I then tried to log in to GW but still nothing

I've contacted NC Soft support and am waiting for them to get back to me, I reckon I won't hear anything back until after the weekend but thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone has had the same problem and what was the issue?

It's no big deal about missing this weekend but i have a bad feeling that my 4 year old account has been cracked..

Not to point out the obvious, but if you've been away from the game for 4 years you may not be aware of it, but you have to also type in the name of one of your characters on the log-in screen now.

If you did this anyway and you are still having the problem, I apoligise, but you would be surprised how many people miss this.

Oh, it's only been 3 months since i last logged on so I i know to put in a chars name in - just that there seems to be a break in the password reset. Thanks for taking the time to reply tho.

Two things off the top of my head:

- do you have a 'valid' e-mail address tied to your account. If not, the system will send the e-mail to the 'e-mail address' that is the same as your login user name. If that username is no longer a valid e-mail address, you won't get the e-mail.

- your account may have been hacked, in which case you'll have to contact support and give them the info they request.
